Secret Suburbia fuses the lush textures of electronic music with pop sensibilities, and the punch of rock and
roll, to create music that is both inspiring and intelligent.
In addition to sharing a lineup with the likes of Matthew Good, Sloan, Dave Usher and Sam Roberts, to name a few, Secret Suburbia has
already achieved top-ten ranking on Internet music sites like mp3.com and garageband.com, and was awarded 1st place "Reader's Demo" by the UK's leading audio magazine, Computer Music, as well as by
Canadian Musician Magazine. The band's music has also been licensed to film and television, including FOX's hit series "24", MTV's "The Real World/Road Rules" and Disney's feature film, "Path to 9-11".
Secret Suburbia was voted the #1 Indie band in Toronto, and top-five in Canada in Bodog Music's Battle to End All Battles. More recently, Secret Suburbia was nominated for three Toronto
Exclusive Magazine Awards, including Best Rock CD Album for their latest release, Midi Gritty, and won for Best Up And Coming Rock Producer for the band's frontman, T.J. Habibi. The band was also
nominated for an Ontario Independent Music Award. In addition to his production credit, T.J. Habibi also composes and records all of Secret Suburbia's music himself, and is joined for live
performances by Mark Chee-Aloy (bass), Dave West (guitar), and John Michalopolous (drums). |
